Vibration Control

In industrial and mechanical environments, there is a regular need to support or suspend heavy machinery and piping.

In major buildings, hotels, hospitals and airports, vibration sources such as VRf’s, air handling units, chillers, pumps, generators and compressors need to be supported whilst isolated from vibration. All these machines include rotating parts which cause vibration. This results in noise disturbance transmitted to the surrounding environment through the building structure itself, or even the equipment itself developing lower efficiency and increased costs.

Flat rubber strips cannot protect a service unit against low-frequency vibrations, and in almost all cases more elaborate devices are required to prevent vibrations from being transmitted through building structures. Depending on the excitation frequency expected which is dependent on the RPM of the equipment shafts, selective elastic shock-mounts, spring mounts and hangers are matched to the particular machine conditions.

Smaller spring-mounts and and elastic shock-mounts for domestic air-conditioner compressor units and pumps are also available to replace inefficient flat base rubber strips, resulting in a lot less transmission of noise through external walls, floors and shafts.
