Description

C263

6 ½” In-Ceiling Loudspeaker

Since the first Revel® speakers in 1996, Revel products have stood at the forefront of loudspeaker design and performance. Revel in-ceiling loudspeakers draw upon the same research, resources and unique perspective that put all Revel loudspeakers in a class by themselves. Revel in-ceiling loudspeakers provide unparalleled value and are known for their standard-setting low sonic coloration and their freedom from distortion over an extraordinarily wide dynamic range.

Highlights

  • Long-throw woofers with rubber surrounds provide high output with low distortion
  • A 1-inch (25mm) metal-dome tweeter with an integrated waveguide provides optimized response both on and off axis
  • A high-order crossover network delivers accurate timbre reproduction
  • Boundary compensation switch (C783/C763) lets you adjust the speaker to maintain tonal accuracy when the speaker is placed near a wall
  • Three-position tweeter level control (C783/C763/C583/C563) lets you adjust for optimum response in a variety of acoustical environments, or for using the speakers without grilles

PROVEN SUPERIOR SOUND

All twelve in-ceiling loudspeaker models have undergone exclusive HARMAN double-blind listening tests, proving their sound quality superior to that of their competitors. The premium components of Revel in-ceiling loudspeakers include high-performance tweeters with waveguides, high-order crossovers and cast-frame drivers.

TWEETER WAVEGUIDE ASSEMBLY

High-frequencies are reproduced from minimum diffraction, acoustically optimized tweeter waveguide pods. Waveguides match the dispersion of the tweeter and woofer through the crossover region, resulting in smooth response over a wide listening area. The offset placement significantly reduces acoustic anomalies that occur with traditional coaxial or “bridge-mounted” tweeter in-ceiling speaker designs.

HIGH FREQUENCY AND BOUNDARY GAIN COMPENSATION

High Frequency (HF) level controls and Boundary Gain Compensation (BGC) controls are valuable features to optimize performance in a variety of applications. Both the 5- and 7-Series models have HF level control switches, and the 7-Series models have a BGC On/Off switch control. The HF level control helps adjust the sound for unusually damped or live rooms, while the BGC switch provides low-frequency compensation when the loudspeakers are installed close to walls.

C-2 INSTALLATION MECHANISM

This mounting method improves on traditional mechanisms by accommodating material up to two inches thick. As a result you get a firmer mechanical grip to minimize resonances.

ZERO-BEZEL MAGNETIC GRILLES

The zero-bezel grilles provide an unobtrusive look that allows the product to blend in seamlessly with its surroundings. The ultra-thin design attaches magnetically and completely covers the speaker. The absence of a traditional bezel makes painting the grilles a simple task.
