For all its stunning looks, the technology inside this premium Dolby Atmos® soundbar is what’s truly astonishing. Nine speakers are precisely arranged in the cabinet—including two new upward-firing dipole transducers. This works in tandem with proprietary PhaseGuide technology to beam multi-directional sound to distinct areas in your room, giving you the feeling that what you hear is coming from places where there are no physical speakers.

What exactly is Dolby Atmos®? It’s a technology that allows artists and content creators to place each voice, instrument, and sound in its own space, creating an unparalleled spatial experience with realistic overhead effects. You’re in the middle of it all, right in your living room, enjoying the peak of home entertainment.

When there’s no Dolby Atmos content, like stereo or 5.1, Bose TrueSpace™ technology takes over for the vertical experience, remixing signals to add “height” without adding a ceiling speaker, creating the same immersive sound experience.

As you’d expect, you can wirelessly stream all of your favourite music services thanks to Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect compatibility. If it’s available on your mobile devices, you can hear it through the Bose Smart Soundbar 900. What’s more, since your smart soundbar can be grouped with any other Bose smart speakers over Wi-Fi, the Chromecast built-in feature can be shared across Bose products for a seamless audio experience throughout your home.

You want to be in the middle of all the action, and the Bose Surround Speakers put you there. Designed exclusively to pair with the Bose Smart Soundbars, these unobtrusive rear surround speakers provide sweeping sound that adds to your movies, sports, and TV shows.

When it comes to rear surround speakers, the only thing you want to stand out is the sound. Standing less than 4″ tall, the Bose Surround Speakers fit right in with a sound that stands out.

Simple setup

Adding these surround speakers to your soundbar leads to a thrilling, theater-like experience. And the setup? Simple. Two wireless receivers accompany the speakers to facilitate a wireless connection to the soundbar. Once connected, you have a premium acoustic setup to complement the powerful performance of the soundbar.

FAQS

The simplest way to connect the Soundbar is via the supplied HDMI cable to your TV. If your TV has an HDMI-eARC connection, you should use that connection to get the benefit from Dolby Atmos encoded content. If your TV does not have an HDMI connection, then you should connect the Soundbar to the TV using the optical cable (also supplied with the Soundbar).

No. All sources must be connected to the TV and then a single connection (via the HDMI or optical cable) must be made from the TV to the soundbar.

Press the Bluetooth source button on the remote control. The light bar on the soundbar pulses blue. Ensure your mobile device is in pairing mode and select the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 from the list. You also can pair your mobile device to the soundbar using the Bose Music app.

Your Bose smart soundbar will sound great in almost any environment. But to get the best possible performance, be sure you do not put it in an enclosed/recessed cabinet or cover the side or upward-firing transducers.

Yes. You can group any of our smart speakers and soundbars together for multi-room listening using the Bose Music app. This way, you can fill your whole home with music — either synchronized or different music in different rooms.

Yes. The Bose Soundbar Wall Bracket (sold separately) lets you mount the soundbar to the wall.

ADAPTiQ is part of the overall setup process and is driven through the Bose Music app. You will be prompted to run ADAPTiQ after you download the Bose Music app and start the setup process. If you skip running ADAPTiQ during the initial setup process — or change your room significantly or add bass module(s) or surround speakers after initially running ADAPTiQ — you can go back into the app and do it again. Initiate ADAPTiQ and follow the prompts in the app.

Yes. It can be controlled by third-party remote controls that include the set of Bose commands. 

No. However, using SimpleSync™ technology you can wirelessly connect our most popular Bose headphones with the soundbar using a Bluetooth connection. This connection can be set up through the Bose Music app. For the full list of compatible headphones, see the Using groups article on our Support site.

Yes. The Bose Soundbar 900 uses presets via the Bose Music app and the remote control.

Yes. Bass can be controlled in the Bose Music app. 

Yes. The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 and the Bose Bass Modules all use the same wireless protocols and can be mixed and matched. However, the design language and materials of the Smart Soundbar 900 and the Bass Module 700 are designed to complement each other. When connecting two bass modules to the Smart Soundbar 900, they must be of the same type.

Yes. The Bose Surround Speakers connect wirelessly to the Bose Smart Soundbar 900, Bose Smart Soundbar 300, Bose Smart Soundbar 700, or the Bose Soundbar 500 — so no wires are required from the front of the room to the rear. But the Bose Surround Speakers do require electrical power to power the wireless receiver and there is a speaker wire connecting the wireless receiver to the speaker itself.

No. The Bose Surround Speakers can only be connected wirelessly.

The Bose Surround Speakers are intended for use in the same room as the Bose Smart Soundbar 900, Bose Smart Soundbar 300, Bose Smart Soundbar 700, or the Bose Soundbar 500, and have a range of about 30 ft.

We recommend placing the speakers behind the main listening area — one on the left side and one on the right of the room — for optimum sound quality.
