Acoustic Treatment

Every room in our household is different, and it’s not just the size or shape of the room that will dictate how it will sound… Imagine we have two rooms of the same dimensions and shape. One has a two meter thick concrete walls all around, and the other a single‑layer of plasterboard stud-wall all around. Even with these brief descriptions, we would already know that the two rooms will sound very different. 

There is no point in buying expensive equipment if you’re going to put them in a troublesome listening environment.  Despite all this, most people simply ignore acoustic treatment when setting up their Studio or home cinema rooms. 

Why? Having expensive equipment without any treatment against having mid range equipment with a treated room will sound much better to anyone, but Acoustic treatment is not cheap and it’s a topic that many people don’t understand, plus the spouse hates it — whatever the reason, people are reluctant to throw some acoustic panels on their walls, even though it will make an epic improvement to their sound! 

The truth is, we are willing to fight a battle for sonic nirvana in our rooms, and we may not realize it, because our opponent is invisible!!
